The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa state command, has arrested a 35-year-old man, Yusuf Musa, for allegedly stealing 11 goats.
NSCDC commandant in the state, Mr Muhammad Gidado Fari, told newsmen yesterday in Dutse that the suspect was arrested in Jaruwa village in Jahun local government area of the state.

Gidado explained that the suspect was arrested after he allegedly stole the goats belonging to one Malam Sulaiman Adamu, adding that the matter was reported to the men of the Command operating in the area by residents of the village.
The commandant said the suspect was rescued from angry people who caught him heading the goats out of the village.

“They beat him up and nearly lynched him,” he said.
He said the suspect was taken to General Hospital, Jahun, for treatment due to the injuries he sustained, and was later discharged.
He said the suspect confessed to committing the offence and would soon be charged to court.
