NSCDC, FCT beef up security for Eid-el-fitr celebration

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), headed by Commandant Mathias Ohiemi, has deployed 3,000 personnel to beef up security during the Eid-el-fitr festivities.

Commandant Mathias said: “It is no gain saying that the crime rate in the entire nation is on the rise. It is therefore the responsibility of the security agents to improve on security strategies so as to checkmate the activities of criminals and hoodlums in the FCT.

“It is on this note that we have deployed 3,000 trained officers to strategic places in the federal capital to strategically enhance security in such places and the FCT as a whole.”

The commandant assured of the selfless discharge of duty by his officers and men in order to keep the people and the territory secure.

He urged citizens to go about their duties and businesses and ensuring total compliance to rules and regulations, obeying traffic orders and living in peace, harmony and decorum.

He called on the general public to work hand-in-hand with the NSCDC and other security agencies by providing necessary information that will help ease up discharge of their duties.
