NSCDC: Madu embarks on nationwide visit to commands

The acting Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Hilary Kelechi Madu, has commenced a national working visit tp all the state commands beginning from the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The visit which began Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Abuja command will see the NSCDC boss go round the country.

In a statement released to newsmen by the Corps Public Relations Officer, DCC Olusola Odumodu, said the CG called on the Corps officers and men to embrace professionalism in the discharge of their constitutional mandates.

Madu noted according to the statemen the Minister Interior has mandated him to come up with a blueprint in two key areas comprising the Agro-Rangers, Critical Infrastructure and National Assets to further enhance the efficiency of the Corps.

He also revealed that the Minister assured to assist the Corps in transforming the Agro-Rangers and also support in all ways, the adequate protection of the nation’s Critical Infrastructure and National Assets so as to curb the incessant pipelines fire explosions.

“The new helmsman, charged all the Officers and Men concerning the COVID-19 protocols that the Corps Personnel should be up and doing in keeping to the protocols, and also, be in the vanguard of enforcing the COVID-19 protocols in Nigeria.

“He said the President of Nigeria is very particular on the enforcement of the COVID-19, as he has called on all Nigerians to maintain the highest hygiene possible. According to Acting CG, the President has directed that all defaulters of COVID-19 should be sanctioned.”

A zonal commander in zone O, ACG Aliyu Musa Ndanusa, his vote of thanks, committed the Acting Commandant General into the hands of God to always guide him in his new office.

He noted especially, that the working visit of the Acting Commandant General was a morale booster to the officers and men of the FCT command to propel them to work more efficiently in the discharge of their constitutional mandates.
