NSCDC parades suspected rapists in Nasarawa 

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa state command, Thursday, arrested three persons accused of rape and defilement.

Parading the three suspects at the command’s headquarters in Lafia, the state capital, the spokesman of the command, DSC Jerry Victor, stated that the suspects were arrested in different locations in Lafia.

“The suspects, Haruna Abdullahi, 39, who hails from Tudun Kofa in Lafia, and Dauda Muhammed, 35, who hails from Dawakin local government area of Kano state but resides in Tudun Kofa, Lafia Nasarawa state, confessed to have raped the 13-year-old girl (names withheld) at his house  in Tudun Kofa Lafia.

“It is disheartening to know that the suspect, Dauda Mohammed is a friend to the victim’s father,” he said.

The victim told newsmen that the friend to her father called her to his place, and she went to him, thinking he wanted to send her, unknown to her that he had a devilish plan to rape her.

The command also paraded 20-year-old Haruna Mohammed for raping and impregnating another 13-year-old girl (names withheld) in Layin Kaji, also in Lafia.



The suspect have confessed to have committed the act and promised to marry the underage girl.


The suspects will be charged to court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution.



The command therefore called on the good people of Nasarawa state to be security conscious, and report any suspicious movement in and around their vicinity to any security agencies closer to them.
