NSE: Equity market dips by N21bn

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange yesterday continued in negative note, dropping by N21 billion.
Specifically, Market Capitalisation of listed equities declined further by 0.16 per cent to N13.228 trillion from N13.249 trillion reported the previous day.
The NSE All Share Index sheds 67.16 basis points to 36232.66 points from 36299.82 points reported on Wednesday.
Investors traded 188.259 million shares worth N1.291 billion in 2795 deals against 114.037.million shares valued at N730.084 million in 2610 deals.
A review of the transactions showed that International Breweries led gainers table for the day, gaining N0.50 kobo to close at N31.00, Sterling Bank followed with a gain of N0.13 kobo to close at N1.49 kobo, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated gained N0.10 kobo to close at N22.15 kobo, Eterna Oil appreciated by N0.10 kobo to close at N6.10 kobo, Stanbic IBTC grew by N0.10 kobo to close at N50.00 On the country, Mobil oil topped losers chart during the day, dropping by N10.00 to close at N170.00, FBNHoldings trailed with a loss of N0.45 kobo to close at N9.50 kobo, Vitafoam down by N0.36 kobo to close at N3.24 kobo, PZ industries depreciated by N0.20 kobo to close at N14.05 kobo, Zenith International Bank dropped by N0.15 kobo to close at N23.60 kobo.
Further analysis indicated that United Bank for Africa was the most active stock during the day, trading 27.219 million shares worth N260.239 million, Law Union and Rock Insurance followed with account of 25.000 million shares valued at N22.500 million, Zenith International Bank traded 19.916 million shares cost N71.386 million, Courteviller traded 19.692 million shares worth N4.134 million while Regal Insurance sold 13.125 million shares cost N3.049 million.
