NSE: Equity market loses N20bn

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange yesterday maintained its losing trend with two market indicators declined by 0.15 per cent.

Market capitalisation of listed equities went down by N20 billion to N13.158 trillion from N13.173 trillion traded on Monday. 

The NSE All Share Index dropped by 42.26 basis point to 27047.58 points from 27089.84 point reported the previous day. Investors traded 364.217 million shares worth N4.862 billion in 4629 dealsagainst 290.490 million shares worth N4.294 billion in 2900.00.

An analysis of the transactions showed that Dangote Flour Mills Nigeria Plc led gainers table during the day, gaining N1.25 kobo to close at N22.25 kobo, MTNNigeria Plc followed with a gain of N0.45 kobo to close at M138.kobo, Guaranty Trust Bank gained N0.35 to close at N26.85 kobo, FBNHoldings  added N0.35 kobo to close at N5.000 and Nigerian Breweries added N0.20 kobo to close at N50.75 kobo.

On the contrary, Nestle Nigeria Plc recorded the highest loss, declining by N56.00 to close at N1080.00, Cement Company of Northern Nigeria trailed with a loss of N1.15 kobo to close at N16.25 kobo, Dangote Cement industry fell by N0.70 kobo to close at N155.00, Forte Oil down by N0.50 kobo to close at N14.00 while UACN sheds N0.40 kobo to N6.20 kobo.
