NSE: Equity market rebound, gains N174bn

Transactions on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange yesterday took upwards trend, appreciating by N174 billion.
Market capitalisation of listed equities improved by 1.26 per cent to N13.763 trillion from N13.589 trillion reported on Wednesday. Also the NSE All Share Index grew by 488.84 basis points to 38.676.12 points from 38187.28 points recorded in the Wednesday day. Investors traded a turnover of 825.130 million shares cost N3.883 billion in 6220 deals against 589.584 million shares valued at N2.119 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 4366 deals.
Analysis of trading activities showed that Seplat Petroleum Development led gainers table during the day, increasing by N23.78 kobo to close at N650.00, Forte Oil followed with a gain of N2.10 kobo to close at N44.10 kobo. Lafarge Wapco gained N2.00 to close at N49.10 kobo, International Breweries added N2.00 to close at N56.99 kobo, Guaranty Trust Bank advanced by N1.54 kobo to close at N42.34 kobo.
Nestle Nigeria Plc topped losers chart for the day, shedding N55.99 kobo to close at N1500.00, Mobil Oil trailed with a loss of 6.80 kobo to close at N170.00, PZ Industries fell by N0.80 kobo to close at N20.40 kobo, Custodian and Allied Insurance sheds N0.19 kobo to close at N3.79 kobo while NEM Insurance declined by N0.08 kobo to close at N1.57 kobo
Diamond Bank Plc recorded the highest volume of activities for the day, trading 169.058 million shares worth N314.222 million, FCMB group followed with account of 163.339 million shares valued at N297.576 million, Transnational Corporation of Nigeria traded 144.921 million shares cost N241.797 million, Skye Bank sold 89.258 million shares valued at N50.213 million, Sterling Bank exchanged 37.812 million shares worth N45.786 million.
