NSE: Market sustains growth, improves by N43bn

Trading at the nation’s stock market yesterday closed on bullish trend as it improved by N43 billion. Specifically, the market capitalisation  grew by 0.34 per cent to N12.532 trillion from N12.489 trillion recorded the previous day.

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) trading result showed that the All Share Index (ASI) increased by 135.90 basis points to 39017.66 from 38881.76 traded on Tuesday. The review of the transaction showed that investors purchased 290.968 million shares worth N4.309  billion in 4238 deals against 359.354 million shares worth N4.938 billion in 4655 deals.                                              An analysis of the investment  showed that Nestle Nigeria Plc led gainers table , appreciating by N22.10 kobo to close at N1182.10, Forte Oil followed with a gain of N5.10 kobo to close at N111.30 kobo while UACN, Stanbic IBTC and Dangote Sugar  gained N2.71 kobo, bN0.45 kobo and N0.44 kobo respectively to close at N57.08 kobo and N20.45 kobo  and N9.64 kobo.

On the contrary,Total Nigeria Plc topped the losers chart, shedding N9.07 kobo to N172.38 kobo, Guinnes Nigeria Plc trailed with a loss of N6.99 kobo to close at N188.00 while Julius Berger loss N2.35 kobo to close at N68.50 kobo. Other stocks depreciated in price were Dangote Cement and Nigeria Breweries which declined by N0.99 kobo and N0.58 kobo respectively to close at N234.01 kobo and N151.42 kobo.
