NSE: Unilever leads gainers table as stock market gains N50bn

 

Unilever Nigeria Plc yesterday led gainers table at the nation’s equity market during the day, increasing by N4.50 kobo to close at N64.60 kobo, Stanbic IBTC followed with a gain of N2.35 kobo to close at N49.35 kobo, Guaranty Trust Bank gained N1.40 kobo to close at N49.00, Guinness Nigeria Plc added N1.40 kobo to close at N99.50 kobo while Flour Mills Nigeria Plc appreciated by N1.00 to close at N37.00.
On the contrary, Presco Plc topped losers chart, dropping by N3.65 kobo to close at N74.35 kobo, Dangote Cement trailed with a loss of N3.00 to close at N262.00, Dangote Sugar fell by N0.30 kobo to close at N22.20 kobo, Union Bank of Nigeria depreciated by N0.30 kobo to close at N7.50 kobo while Zenith International Bank down by N0.20 kobo to close at N31.00.
The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) trading result showed that All Share Index increased by 189.93 basis points to 43092.63 points from 42902.70 traded on Wednesday.
Market Capitalisation of listed equities also appreciated by N50 billion to N15.480 trillion from N15.430 trillion reported the previous day. Investors traded 574.806 million shares valued at N3.393 billion in 4340 deals against 270.331 million shares worth N5.179 billion exchanged in 4799 deals
An analysis of the investment indicated that Capital Oil was investors delight during the day, accounting for 308.806 million shares worth N142.051 million, Japaul Oil and Maritime followed with account of 24.028 million shares valued at N21.384 million, Multiverse traded 17.626 million shares cost N4.071 million, Zenith Bank sold 16.626 million shares worth N506.189 million while FBNHoldings exchanged 16.077 million shares cost N184.113 million.
