NTA’s Odu emerges C/River journalists’ chair

Cross River State Journalists Forum (CROSSJOF), Abuja chapter, has elected Mr. Gabriel Odu of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) as its chairman.
The election, which was held at the weekend in Abuja, also saw Mr. Joseph Orok also of NTA elected as vice chairman; Mr. David Odama of Vanguard newspapers as secretary; Mrs. Francisca Ogar of ITV as assistant secretary; Mrs. Ukpanyang Idara Patrick of FRCN as treasurer.
Also elected into the executive of the forum are; Ene Okon of Cool FM, Nigeria Info & Wazobia as financial secretary; Godfrey Akon of The Abuja Inquirer as PRO; and Lesley Otu of SheWorld Magazine as internal auditor.
Presenting the newly elected excos to the congress, the chairman of the electoral committee, Mr. Mathias Okwe of The Guardian newspapers, congratulated them and urged them to live up to the responsibilities of their offices.
Okwe, who was assisted by Mrs. Chizoba Ogbeche and David Agba Fidel, both of Blueprint newspapers, commended members for their support to the committee and urged them to extend the same level of cooperation to the new executive.
Speaking on behalf of the new officials, the chairman thanked members for electing them, and promised to re-position the Forum and take it to an enviable height through visionary, transparent and accountable leadership.
