NUC accredits degree courses for Aminu Saleh College

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited new degree courses for the Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare, Bauchi state.

The courses accreted by NUC are B.A (Ed) Arabic, BSc (Ed) Biology, Bus. Education and Economics all under the undergraduate programmes run by the college in affiliation with the University of Maiduguri.

A press release by the public relations unit of the college and made available to Blueprint Thursday said the Provost of the College, Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed Isyaku, disclosed this following the visit of the NUC accreditation team to the college.

He assured that the college would abide by their professional guidance, advice and academic leadership and thanked all those who facilitated and worked tirelessly for the success of the exercise. 

The Provost also expressed the readiness of the college to work closely with the team and the university to justify the accreditation.

Welcoming the NUC accreditation team at the opening session, the Vice Chancellor, University of Maiduguri, represented by the director Affiliated Colleges Unit of the University, Professor A.B. Alhassan, appreciated the members of the team and urged them to ensure the successful accreditation exercise in the best interest of the education sector.

 The vice chancellor further commended the efforts of the Bauchi state government in providing a conducive atmosphere for the exercise.

In her speech, the NUC accreditation team leader, Professor Duyuleni A. Nireti, commended the college for the warm reception and support accorded them in discharging the assignment.

 The programme was rounded off with exchange of pleasantries and facility inspection tour of some selected sites within the institution such as the ICT centre, e-library, and the clinic. There was a debriefing by the team on the college management, the deanery and programme coordinators before their departure on the last day.
