Actress Nuella Njubigbo wed popular Nollywood producer/director Tchidi Chikere over the weekend in her hometown in Anambra state.
Now, it is common knowledge that husband snatching allegations and counter allegations is very rampant among Nigerian thespians, most recent ones include Foluke Daramola who allegedly snatched Lagos socialite Kayode Salako from his evangelist wife, and Stella Daamasus who is believed to have hijacked Daniel Ademinokan from Doris Simeon.
But just when we thought we’ve seen enough, Tchidi, Nuella and Tchidi Chikere’s first wife, Sophia stepped on the stage.
There had been rumours that Tchidi and Nuella were dating before the movie director dumped his actress wife and mother of his three children, Sophia Chikere.
As if that wasn’t enough, they were said to have moved in together at Graceland Estate in Ajah, Lagos, last year.
Aware of the fast spreading criticism that she snatched a colleague’s husband, Nuella issued a statement hours before the wedding confirming the wedding to Tchidi, saying that she was only following her heart and that she only started dating the movie director after he left his wife, not when they were together.
Sophia immediately debunked Nuella’s statement, saying Tchidi actually left her and her three children because of Nuella. She even placed a curse on Nuella.
“I swear with my life, my children’s life and everything I have that Nuella started dating my husband before he left the marriage. Let the wrath of God be your portion. Now that you have taken my hubby and you are getting married to him like I heard, are you happy? Are you fulfilled? Let the Almighty God fight for me and judge you,” Sophia cried out.
As earlier menttoned, Tchidi and Nuella eventually walked down the aisle over the weekend amidst the controversy, but the groom reacted shortly after fulfilling his mission:
“Glad for the family I came from and how I was raised. I won’t respond to touts who judge issues they know nothing about. Glad I’m now married!”
