Nurturing young talents is my joy – Amuneke

Former Super Eagles forward, Emmanuel Amuneke, has revealed that developing the younger generation and helping build their talents are what motivate him as a coach.

The former African Football of the year said that football has always been a joy for him and he would definitely want to use his wealth of experience to inspire the upcoming generation.

“Football has been my joy and all my entire life I have been involved in the game, from playing as a footballer at the highest level and then now adventuring into coaching. For me, football is all that gives me joy.

“I see myself as a teacher and I would want to teach my students so that they can progress and that makes me happy on the job,” Amuneke who brought the likes of Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Nwakali pointed out.
Now working with Egyptian side Misr El-Makasa, the 49-year-old, however, hopes to keep learning and growing on the job in order to lead the nation to glory at senior level after twice conquering the World U-17 both as an assistant and head coach.
His exploits have seen him worked with Sudan with Al Khartoum and after also guiding Tanzania to their first AFCON in nearly four decades before moving to the Egyptian League in the winter.
