NWFPL: River Angels tackle Delta Queens

It would be the fight of titans in Port Harcourt this weekend as the league leaders, Rivers Angels host their bitter rivals Delta Queens in what would be the star match of the week in the Nigeria Women Football Premier League.

When the two sides met at the first stanza of the league, they settled for a one all draw. But this weekend in Port Harcourt, both side will marshal out their best to ensure that they come out victorious at the end of the day. The Angels from Port Harcourt would want to maintain their unbeaten runs in the league, by deploying the likes of Cecilia Nku, Evelyn Nwabuoku, Stella Mbachu, Asisat Oshoala, Loveth Ayila, Ulunma Jerome and Ebere Orji to consolidate on their runs, while Coach Dan Evuemena will marshal out the likes of Ngozi Okobi, Osinachi Ohale, Nnodim Sarah, Ehiudo Chiudo, Ihuoma Onuegbu to frustrate all the efforts of the host. One thing that remains is that at the end of the encounter, the best of Nigeria Women football would be on display at the venue. The match will be picked live by NTA Sports channel.

Another interesting match would be in Lokoja where Confluence Queens would tackle Bayelsa Queens. When both side met at the first stanza, the match ended goalless. But this weekend in Lokoja, a winner must emerge. The home sides are not ready to surrender any point at home, but against the Bayelsa team that is now eager to give in their best in every match, the Wada girls would surely have their hands full. Nasarawa Amazons will be at home to Sunshine Queens who would parade experience legs like Sunday Opeyemi, Esther Michael, Ogunriola Funsho, Tawakalitu Mustapha, Henry Chisom among others. They would be marched by nonsense defender Maryam Ibrahim, Bose Mabo, Chiyere Iboamadu, Ujunwa Ebere, Rachael Okotete and Rechael Akpojofor. FC Taraba Queens takes on Edo Queens, while Pelican Stars settle scores with Adamawa Queens. The last match will be between Ibom Angels and Osun Babes.
