Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa state and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar are at war over the ongoing congresses of the party in the state.
Blueprint reports that already the party in the state is now divided between Nyako and Atiku’s camps that have drawn a battle line over the control of the party structures in the state.

The fall out of the ward congresses saw the dislodgement of the candidates believed to have the backing of Atiku and the emergence of anointed candidates of the eldest son of the governor, Abdulaziz Nyako, believed to be working for his father to smoothen his governorship ambition, despite his father’s repeated assurances that none of his sons or members of his family would run in 2015.

Although, the former vice-president who arrived the state two days after the ward congresses is yet to make any categorical statement about the congresses except for some prominent party chieftains who continued to deny that there was any rift between Atiku and Nyako.
