NYC launches Nigerian Youth Radio

The Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) has officially launched the long-anticipated ‘Nigerian Youth Radio’ as a part of the activities lined up to celebrate the National Youth Day.

The body had on the October 1, 2020, while celebrating the Nigeria’s 60th independence Day in Abuja, announced its plans to launch the 1st ever Youth Radio in Africa to celebrate independence.

The NYC President, Comrade Blessing A. Akinlosotu, who spoke at the launch of the Youth Radio in Abuja, last weekend, said the medium is designed to project a united Nigeria, stating that it would also open a new door of communication in the country.

He said: “It is our hope that the Nigerian Youth Radio is one that will open a new door in the communication system in our country.

A medium that will educate you, entertain you, impact you and keep you abreast about the latest information in and out of Nigeria.

“The NYC’s apex leadership with a sound blueprint of fine tuning the minds of youths to creativity, hard work, skill acquisition, general youth engagements and the likes has come out with this initiative to raise hopes of the Nigerian youths in radio communication.

“We also acknowledge that many youths have involved themselves in listening to toxic news that doesn’t tell well of a United Nigeria.

NYC believes that youths must listen to programmes that motivate them to think well of a prosperous Nigeria, listen to issues that bring solutions to our many problems and engage in healthy conversations.

“It is towards these possibilities that NYC through my leadership as the National President believes that it will be of value to celebrate National Youth Day with the radio channel so as to proffer solutions to the many challenges confronting Nigeria today.

“We assure you that the Nigerian Youth Radio which is already linked with one of the top most ranking radio stations in Dubia, known as Typical Nija Radio will turn out to be one of the most informative, educative, and entertaining radio stations in the country and Africa at large.

“On this note, I encourage every youth to be a partaker of this amazing initiative and follow up this amazing gift to our nation at this critical time to be a voice in the On-line industry.”
