NYC tasks FG on recruitment template

The National Youth Congress (NYC) has called on the federal government and the incoming minister of interior to maintain and sustain the recruitment template that gave a smooth process to the recent recruitment exercise in the Federal Fire Service.

At a press conference in Lokoja on Sunday, the North Central Vice Chairman of the Congress Comrade Alfa Ebune called on the federal government to extend the laid down recruitment template to ministries, agencies and parastatals, noting that the process has rekindle hope in the minds of Nigerians that without influence or godfathers they can be employed into federal civil  service .

“The recent recruitment exercise into federal fire service was commendable , youth  from the grassroots who in the past can not dream of having employment opportunities in the federal civil service were employed without any sentiment.

“The process of recruitment  should be extended to all government organs and should be  maintained  and sustained in the interest of Nigerian youth who does not know or have asses to the people at the top, so that we can  have a country where people  gain appointment without having influence” Ebune advised.

Commending the dexterity of the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Service (CDFIP) Board , Alhaji Saleh  Al-Hassan Yakmut, the NYC Vice Chairman described him as a public servant who believed in integrity, transparency and honesty in his dealing with the general public.

“Yakmut has brought a lot of innovative ideas and  transformation to the board. In the past the board was face with crises as a result  of job racketing, but under the leadership of the current Secretary the trend has changed for better where people from the grassroots who don’t have godfathers get employment.

“We commended  his dexterity toward the discharge of his duty and we equally urged him not to relent in his effort to ensure that the right things are done as he is the eye and ear of President Muhammadu Buhari in the board.”
