NYCN sues for peaceful co-existence in Gombe

Gombe state chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has urged the citizens to restore their heritage of peaceful coexistence among the multi ethnic and religious groups in the state.

This was contain in a communiqué signed by its chairman Abdullahi Bello Yaro and public relations officer Anas Umar Kunji made available to Journalists in Gombe on Sunday after an interactive meeting with students, religious and community leaders as a result of civic unrest that occurred in the state capital recently over alleged killings of boys brigade members by Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) personnel.

The group called on religious leaders to engage in massive sensitization on the importance of peaceful co-existence amongst the different faiths.

“Traditional rulers should synergise with various security agencies, religious leaders, local vigilante groups and other relevant stakeholders in communities to ensure peaceful co-existence among different ethnic and religious groups,” they said.
