NYCN suspends Enugu state chapter election indefinitely

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has suspended its Enugu state chapter election that was earlier scheduled to hold on Monday, 12 July 2021.

NYCN president Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo who announced in a statement, Sunday explained that the suspension became necessary based on a pending case in court.

Sukubo who doubles as the Secretary of NYCN Board of Trustees noted that “we regret to announce indefinite suspension of the Enugu State chapter election”.

He added that “this indefinite suspension is for the peace and unity of our Youths in Enugu State. It is also to enable the National Headquarters to properly consult the legal team and understand the true situation of the matter before the court.

The statement partly read “NYCN regrets any inconveniences the abrupt suspension would have caused and assures that the new date for the elective congress shall be announced in due course.

“Finally, he appeals for calm and charge the Enugu State youths to remain peaceful, as the National Headquarters shall resolve all necessary issues amicably to give room for an all inclusive elective Congress that will be free, fair and acceptable”.
