NYSC coordinator urges corps members to be security-conscious

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) State Coordinator, Mr. Ballama Bello Birniwa, has warned the newly sworn in 2018 Batch ‘A’ corps members to be security-conscious and avoid unapproved travelling.
Speaking during the swearing in ceremony, Birniwa said: “You have to be security- conscious and be at alert at all times; if you find yourselves in any problems you should alert us through the emergency line. “Our mandate as camp officials is to install in the corps members the spirit of discipline, tolerance, self-reliance and loyalty through the various trainings and induction they will be exposed to for the next three weeks, all geared towards preparing them for the task ahead.
“Although, a course of those types is associated with its attendant problems but the camp officials as well as the corps members have resolved to transform these difficulties into challenges.” Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Muhammad Musa Bello, who was represented by the secretary, Social Development Secretariat FCTA and Chairman NYSC FCT governing board, Oladimeji Ali Hassan, urged the corps members to cooperate with camp officials to ensure the overall success of the programme.
“The programme is therefore designed to install in you the requisite leadership qualities of perseverance, endurance, discipline and ability to co-exist peacefully with others from different socio-political, ethical or religion background,” he said.
