NYSC deploys 2000 corps members to Niger

The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) has deployed 2000 corps members for the 2019 Batch C, Stream 1, orientation course in Niger state.

The NYSC in the state, Ms Funmilayo Ajayi, disclosed this in a statement, Friday in Minna.

 “The NYSC Director- General, Brig-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, has approved the commencement of the 2019 Batch C Stream One orientation course nationwide on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. The orientation course is scheduled to end on Monday, November 25, 2019.”

She said in the state, a total of 2,000 prospective corps members are expected to camp at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Paiko.

The coordinator appealed to all road transport associations and the good people of the state to continue to assist prospective corps members as they arrive the state from their various destinations.

Meanwhile, 1,322 corps members had successfully completed their service year in the state.

The state NYSC’s coordinator who was represented by the Assistant Director Corps Inspection and Monitoring, Ms Mary Eghieye at the passing out ceremony held recently, commended them for their contributions to the development of their host communities.

She urged them to continue to practice the skills they have learnt and strive to be employers of labour.

The coordinator presented an appreciation certificate to Blessing Ngozi Joseph (NG/18C/2920) for organizing a fitness and wellness festival for 70 members of the public.
