NYSC DG seeks improved welfare for corps members

The National Youth Service Corps Director-General, Brig. Gen. Suleiman Kazaure has appealed to corps employers across the country to improve the standard of welfare packages given as their welfare.
He said every corps employer must be provided with an enabling environment for them to discharge their statutory responsibilities to their fatherland.
Kazaure, according to a statement signed by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Mrs Adenike Adeyemi, stated this yesterday when he visited the 2018 Batch B Corps members currently undergoing induction in Anambra and Imo states orientation camps.
While in both camps, the DG, who frowned at corps members’ rejection, enjoined stakeholders to assist them towards achieving a memorable service year.
Speaking on skills acquisition, General Kazaure said NYSC management had partnered the Central Bank of Nigeria, Bank of Industry and other relevant stakeholders in order to empower corps members with soft loans to finance their business ideas and create jobs.
The NYSC boss used the forum to admonish corps members to respect the culture of host communities, shun every form of social vices and serve as good ambassadors of their schools, families and the NYSC programme.
