NYSC flags off training for corps enumarators in FG’s school feeding programme.

NYSC has flagged off the training of some selected corps members who will be involved in the FG’s National Home Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) Tuesday at the Federal Secretariat Complex,  Yola.

Declaring the training open, the NYSC state coordinator who was represented by the head of CDS, Sumla M. Elisha, charged the corps members to be good ambassadors of the scheme by delivering on the tasks assigned to them.

He further reminded them that what informed their involvement by the federal government is the NYSC’s excellent roles in similar national assignments like the general elections. He warned them against involving themselves in any dubious or sharp practices, stressing that they were in the first place brought in to help checkmate those practices and sanitise the system.

The training is conducted by the programme schedule officer, Mr. Suleiman Abdulkarim, along with a consultant, Mr. Peter Akanbi, from the NETRIX Consult. Also those facilitating the exersice are the zonal inspectors and local government inspectors.

The schedule officer stated that the training, which last for four days, will also be conducted in the remaining three NYSC zonal offices of Numan, Mubi and Ganye with the corps participants drawn from all the LGAs except Michika and Madagali.

The corps members, after being trained as enumerators, will be given tablets that they will be using to collate the real data of the primary school pupils, the cooks and the school administrators on ground and forward same to the database of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

About 65 corps members are expected to be trained and participate in the exersice.
