NYSC to partner banks to boost corps members’ talent

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) yesterday said that it would partner with Banks and the Actors Guild of Nigeria(AGN) to help talents that abound in the scheme achieve their dreams
Brig-Gen Johnson Olawumi, Director General, NYSC said this at the closing ceremony  of the annual NYSC sports and cultural festivals in Abuja.

He said, based on the sternly performance of the corps members in the cultural festival, the scheme would approach Banks and the AGN to help them further their dreams.
According to him, I have directed top management of the scheme to approach banks and other financial institutions to help those who have distinguished themselves.
He said that the AGN would no longer have to look farther to hunt for talents, adding that scores of talents had been discovered in the annual cultural festival.

The NYSC annual cultural festival often showcase: dance, comedy and drama competition among corps memebers across the country.
Olawumi said that the festival had shown that Nigeria is blessed with abundant talents, having watched the competition from the start.

He said while the festival was not only meant to entertain, it equally brought moral values and draw a united and more viral nation.
Chief Edem Duke, the Minister of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation lauded the NYSC festival, adding that it paraded the best asset of the country.

He said that the NYSC cultural festival provided the platform that could give the corps members the creativity.
Duke said that the corps members who had exhibited such laudable talents would never go hungry, adding that their talent would provide an employment opportunity.
He said that the corps members who have been identified as talented would be taken for the next cultural festival in China.
The minister said that those cultural group who wanted to still stick together would be given the opportunity by the ministry.
