NYSC urges Shettima to review corps members’ allowances

State Coordinator of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Borno state, Alhaji Lawal Turawa, has called on Governor Kashim Shettima, to review upward the N1000 monthly state allowance given to corps members in the state.

He also appealed to the governor to assist the NYSC management with a utility vehicle to reduce their sufferings in transporting training kits and other items to camps for members deployed to the state.
The state coordinator, who stated this yesterday in Maiduguri during the passing out ceremony of 450 Batch ‘A’ 2015 corps embers, while speaking to newsmen.
He urged the state government to expedite efforts to relocate the thousands of IDPs presently occupying the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Behind Tashan Kano to enable the management resume full orientation training and programmes.

Turawa also enjoined the governor to fulfil the state statutory obligation of the NYSC Act on monthly subversion to state NYSC management to complement their services in the state.
He thanked Shettima for his assistance to corps members and staff recently when he visited the Katrina Orientation Camp and donated N1 million to the corps members and N500, 000 to the staff in addition to 100 bags of rice, 10 bags of beans, 50 jerry cans of vegetable oil and six cattle for the feeding of the corps members.
