Obaseki’s certificate: APC defiant, heads to appeal

The chairman, Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state, Col David Imuse RTD, has said that the party will appeal Saturday’s ruling by the Federal High Court which dismissed the alleged certificate forgery suit filed against the governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed dismissed the suit filed by the APC and a chieftain of the party, Williams Edobor, on the conclusion that the plaintiffs failed to prove their allegations against governor Obaseki.

Imuse, while reacting to the judgement, said the party’s legal team would immediately move to study the judgement and file an appeal.

He expressed hope that the judiciary will remain upright and always ensure that the will of the people and rule of law prevail.

According to him, “we thank God for also granting all the lawyers and the judge very good health with which they all contributed to bring the whole litigation process to this interesting stage. It is not the end of the road.”

Imuse appealed to all APC members in the state to be calm and to go about their normal activities without animosity as the party appeals the verdict.
