
Four persons have been reported dead, while five others sustained different degree of injuries in a fatal crash involving two vehicles – a Toyota Sienna with registration number KJA738ET and a trailer, with KMC548YD which occurred along Lagos-Ibadan expressway in Ogere axis, Monday.
The crash, according to the Public Education Officer for Ogun Sector Commander, SRC Florence Okpe, was caused by excessive speed which led to loss of control on the part of the sienna bus leading to collision with a truck when its driver was trying to reverse.
She said the injured victims have been taken to Victory Hospital Ogere for medical attention while the corpses were deposited at FOS Ipara Morgue.
She added that, “A total of 9 persons were involved which comprised of 6 male adult, 2 female adult and 1 male child, adding that 5 persons were injured (2 male adult, 2 female adult and male child), 4 persons were recorded death from the crash, all male adult.”
Meanwhile, the Sector Commander advised motorists to use common sense speed limit especially this rainy season when visibility is poor, and if one cannot drive with the rain, was advisable to park in a safe place and wait for safety purpose.
He also sympathised with the families of the deceased and pray that God should strength them for their losses.
