Ogun assembly begins 2021 budget assessment

Ogun state House of Assembly Monday commenced the monitoring of the year 2021 budget performance on the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as well as local government councils in the state to ascertain their level of compliance with the 2021 appropriation law.

A release signed by the Clerk of the assembly and head of legislative services, Mr. Deji Adeyemo, indicated that the annual exercise which remains part of the oversight functions of the legislature in promoting good governance, is in consonance with Sections 128 and 129 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

The release added that the exercise, which is meant to ensure effective and efficient service delivery to the people, would commence 10:00am daily and end on Monday, 2nd August.

The release enjoined all MDAs as well as local government councils to make available relevant documents and information to ensure the success of the exercise.
