Ogun protest: Abiodun visits victim, pledges to foot medical bills 

The Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun, has promised to pay all medical bills of Gabriel Michael, the victim who was shot during the violent protest that rocked Abeokuta over the naira and fuel scarcity. 

Abiodun made the pledge Wednesday, when he paid a visit to the victim who is currently being treated at the Federal Medical Centre- FMC, Idi-Aba,Abeokuta.

Michael who was shot during the protest at Sapon area was rushed to the Federal Medical Center, Idi Aba, for treatment.

While describing the situation as heartbreaking, the governor noted that the victim escaped death due to what he called absolute miracle of the medical doctors.

“I was totally heartbroken on getting the report of the stray bullet and I want to appreciate all the doctors and nurse here at FMC for the immediate professional intervention given to this man, if not, we would not have been here today. 

“I want to congratulate them because they have proven that we have the local capacity and expertise. I have seen the boy and he’s responding to treatment,” he said.

The governor appealed to citizens of the state to be patient and go about their daily activities without social unrest, assuring them that all hands are on deck to resolve the naira scarcity issue.
