Ogun seeks stakeholders support to improve health sector

The Ogun state government has called on critical stakeholders across various sectors to join in the quest to re-define the health sector and make it the envy of all nations.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, made the call while receiving medical equipment donated by by the Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Ogun state branch, executive members led by the chairman, Alhaji Akibu Titilayo, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Coker said all the donated items were specific to the needs of the state hospitals in Ota, Isara, Abeokuta, Ilaro, and Ijebu-Ode, and gave the assurance that the equipment would be judiciously used for the benefits of the residents.

The equipment were a manual pedal suction machine, fetal monitor, nebulisers, Opthalmoscope, oxygen concentrator, digital sphyg, sterilisers, wheelchairs, N-95 face masks, ordinary face masks, among others.

While describing the leadership of RTEAN in the state as “exemplary,” the commissioner expressed delight that it recognised itself as a major stakeholder that should contribute to re-building the health sector.
