Ohaneze youth cautions FG on revocation of arms license

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Thursday expressed worries that President Muhamadu Buhari’s second term may begin with bloodshed with the Executive orders  banning the use of fire arms and revoking of license of guns taking effect from June 1st 2019.

The youth group disclosed this to journalists in Abakaliki through its President general Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro  after a meeting of the organization.

Isiguzoro also called on federal government to beef up security in South-east and South-south geopolitical zones between May 29 and June 12 this year.

They explained that tension is rising in the two zones and urged the federal government to immediately rise to the occasion and act now.

The group listed Aba, Abakiliki, Awka, Afikpo, Enugu, Owerri, Yenagoa,Port Harcourt, Calabar, Warri, Sapele and Umuahia as places that require tight security in the two zones.

He said “this is not the period of setting up committee or cosmetics approach on the looming danger staring before the people of South-east and south, we are appealing to Presidency to reach out to Biafra agitators and Niger Delta Militia before it’s too late, with the current insecurity in the North, and impending showdown waiting for the Presidency in the South-east and South-south, Nigeria is sitting at the edge of a keg of gunpowder waiting to explode.

“The Signing of Executive Order banning the use of fire arms and revoking of license of guns taking effect from June 1st 2019 on the day Niger Delta Militia are threatening to declare the Niger Delta Republic and also the impending showdown that  likely occur between Sit at home Biafra agitators and security agents on 30th May 2019,are worrisome.
