The former vice chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, has accused Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, of mismanaging N1trilion received from federal allocation and Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Dr. Ojougboh, who made the accusation in a letter he wrote to His Eminence, Most Rev. Bishop Nicholas Okoh, Primate of Anglican Communion, Abuja, said the amount included loans, grants, bail out funds, Paris Club refunds.
Dr. Ojougbo now a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said that Asaba, Agbor, Warri, Sapele, and other major towns in the state are now worse than they had ever been in the course of Okowa’s government.
“Sir, see what is going on in Lagos and Bayelsa states massive infrastructural development. There is no economic team in Delta, there is no focus, no policy and no programme. Prosperity for all Deltans has become prosperity for Okowa and family”, he said.
The APC chieftain said that Deltans noticed that Dr. Okowa was only interested in accumulating money with which to buy the general elections in 2019.
But in a swift reaction, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, said that “Dr. Cairo cannot take us away from our focus of delivering, we don’t take him seriously, he can be talking”.
