Okagbue proud of Remo Stars

Remo Stars head coach UcheOkagbue has said his side left the 2015 Federation Cup competition on a high.
The Sky Blue Stars lost 4-5 on penalties to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Lobi Stars after full time scores stood one goal apiece in Wednesday’s Cup round of 16 clash at the Rojenny Stadium in Oba.
Striker OchowechiSalefu scored the match opener for the Nigeria National League (NNL) side while Mohammed Edumar evened the score for the Pride of Benue, thereby taking the hotly contested encounter to penalties.
Okagbue said he has picked some positives in the competition even though they did not reached the mark they set for themselves in this year’s Cup competition.
“We are not quite happy bowing out at this stage of the competition but we went out with our heads high.
“We worked very hard to ensure we surpassed our previous performances in the annual competition.
“The lads gave it everything they had in them even when the game became too physical they stood strong.
“They have done quite well against two top Premier League sides and we were not defeated in regulation time so we are proud of ourselves.
“We have taken some positives from our participation in the Federation Cup which we believe will be handy as we take our attention and focus to the Nigeria National League, hoping we finish the season well too,” said Okagbue t.
In the 2013 edition of the competition Remo Stars were knocked out 1-2 by Enyimba in the round of 32 in Lokoja while in 2014 Bayelsa United claimrf a 1-0 victory over the Sky Blue Stars in Rojenny.
And in 2015 Lobi Stars knocked out the Sky Blue Stars 5-4 on penalties at the Rojenny Stadium in Oba.
