The administrator of Okene local government area of Kogi state, Engr. Abdulrazak Yusuf, has admonished the people of Kogi Central Senatorial District of the state to compliment the efforts of the state government in tackling the issue of insecurity by giving useful information to security agents to enable them discharge their duties.
Dr Yusuf gave the admonition on Saturday at Ebira central mosque in Okene during the presentation of 1441AH Eman Hijra calendar /celebration organised by El-Birru Muslim Association of Nigeria (EMAN).
The administrator who lamented that in the past security challenges such as kidnapping , armed robbery and other social vices are alien to the district, said the rising insecurity situation in the district calls for concern and involvement of all and sundry to compliment the effort of Governor Yahaya Bello’s commitment toward ensuring that the state is safe for the people .
“I am appealing to people to report any strange face in their areas to the appropriate authority for prompt action. The state government has not relent on its effort to provide adequate security to the citizenry and security agents cannot be everywhere , therefore it behooves on us to assist them with useful information that will enable them clamp down on perpetrators of evils in our domain” he said.
Earlier, the national amir of EMAN , Arc. Abdulyekeen Mamman in his speech said the purpose of the Hijra calendar celebration was to enable Muslims reflect on their past and amend their ways before it is too late, noting that Muslims can achieve a lot if they are determined to do away with bad tendencies and follow the advice of the Holy Prophet .
