Okereke nominated for Club Brugge GOTY award

 Nigerian forward David Okereke has been nominated for Club Brugge Goal of the Year award..

Club Brugge who were crowned Belgian top flight champions after the season was ended due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, made the announcement on their verified Twitter handle on Monday.

Fans of Club Brugge are expected to cast their votes for the club’s best goal for the year.

Okereke will go head-to-head for the award with teammate Hans Vanaken.

The 22-year-old’s goal against Zulte-Waregem, where he neatly beat his marker before curling a left-foot strike into the top corner was shortlisted.

Okereke scored 11 goals provided two assists in 34 games in all competitions in the just concluded campaign.

He made his professional debut in the Serie B for Spezia on 9 April 2016 in a game against

Novara .

In 2018–19 season, he scored 10 goals and 12 assists in 33 games.

And on 9 July 2019, he signed a four-year contract with Club Brugge.

His only appearance in the colours of Nigeria was in 2019 for U-23 Eagles.
