Okorocha sacks ‘Allied Forces’ from APC secretariat

The power of incumbency has come to the fore as an opposition to the sitting governor, under the banner of ‘Allied Forces’, were tactically thrown out of the All Progressives Congress (APC) state secretariat.

Fillers reaching Blueprint showed that the state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has appointed Chris Oguoma as acting chairman, from his faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to occupied the renovated state secretariat of the party.

We also gathered that since this week, the Oguoma-led group have been having its meetings at the secretariat, with most of the appointees and those loyal to the faction in attendance.

With this development, the Senator Ifeanyi Araraume-led ‘Allied Forces’, deemed to had won the just concluded congresses, are no longer welcome in the secretariat, which went into flames a few days after the APC ward congress and two days before the local government congress, which the governor and his faction claimed did not hold.

An APC stalwart who is loyal to the ‘Allied Forces’ told our correspondent that all efforts of the governor to install an illegal party leadership in the state, were in futility as the authentic party executive members had already been known and recognised by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

He added that the party would likely acquire a new office to avoid the old one messed up by the governor’s faction if that threat continued.

Meanwhile, the governor’s factional chairman has gone ahead to issue forms to chairmanship and councillorship aspirants for the forth coming local government elections in the state without recourse to the APC national working committee leadership led by Chief Hilary Ekeh.
