All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that one programme it intends to benefi t from the experience of Labour Party in United Kingdom is to bring young people into politics early and ensure that old ones give way to the new entrants. Th e party also said that it was actively working to ensure that marginalised groups, particularly women and youth were greater mainstreamed in politics.

Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Segun Oni, made this known in Abuja when he received the United Kingdom Member of Parliament for Edmonton, Kate Osamor at the APC National Secretariat. “As politicians, we want to bring the youth to become early politicians. When we encourage the young ones to be politicians early, in a few years, they will compete with anybody,” he said. Speaking during the visit, the UK MP for Edmonton, Kate Osamor narrated the challenges faced by her political party, Labour Party in the lead up to the June 8 Snap General Election in the United Kingdom. “One of the things which the Labour Party had to do to be successful in our last snap general election was to reach out to the people who are downtrodden, the people who are working for minimum wage or on contracts when they don’t know how often they will be paid.
