This year’s league will jump-start May 6, 2018.

Earlier while inaugurating the board in Abuja, President of Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Tijani Umar tasked them to brace up and remain focused.

Umar who has stood his ground and retain a sponsored league initiative assured, “Kwese has given us a clear sign to start the league on the 6th of May 2018. So all hands need to be on deck for the success of it. No matter anyone who want to disrupt our league this season, we will not give them the opportunity please don’t listen to anyone intruders.

“We need a good message for our games, so people will not continue to send wrong message to the people out there. The sponsor had difficulty in identifying with us, Kwese Basketball sponsor sat with us and their biggest difficulty is that Nigeria business environment is not conducive.

“Basketball should not suffer, the players, the coach, every stakeholder should not suffer for the wrong doing of other people.

“With all the problems, disruption, the noise and the fight I want to assure you that the league is going to go on this year. I’m passing the message of the sponsors that the Kwese Premier Basketball will happen. Now as I speak to you, all arrangement for the successful Kwese League is on top gear.

In Lagos, everything is set and they are test-running their activities. So, what is important is that let no one deceive you. We are not talking about any other league, we are talking about Kwese. All of us know that Kwese has come here to save everything on the scene. We will not relent. Don’t go to where they will promise you heaven and you will get hell.”
