Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr, has said that the U23 cannot afford not to qualify for the Olympic Games holding in Japan next year.
Rohr told journalists on arriving Cairo for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations AFCON finals that the Dream team will be among the three African teams that will take pick the tickets for the Olympics.
Rohr said that with the calibre of players in the team they are good enough to defend their title and sail through to Japan 2020.
According to him,” I am here to give support to the team. To make them better for the challenge ahead of them.
“I know it is not going to be an easy tournament for them but we have to work as a team to make them qualify for the Olympics in Toyko next year.
“It is our duty as a team to be together and work hard to put everything in place for the team to do well here. We will make sure nothing is left behind.
“I put my trust in Imama to lead the boys through to the finals if only they play well. I know Nwakali and Okechukwu and others will put up a good fighting spirit and they will never disappoint by the end of the competition,” Rohr assured.
