On Africa anti-corruption day: NGO partners churches to fight corrupt tendencies

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Priests Peace and Justice (PPJ), has said it would partner churches to fight corruption among Nigerians so that dividends of democracy could be reaped in all nooks and
crannies.

The State Coordinator, Ishaya Musa Garba, disclosed this Thursday at Africa anti-corruption day rally organised in Damaturu.

With the theme “shun corruption project” the coordinator, said it was a forum where anti-corruption crusade was being discussed to reduce the menace among individuals.

“Corruption had brought lack of quality services, proper justice, closed chances of unemployment, poor health and hygiene, lack of development among others, so we must fight it vigorously.

“We intend to compliment the efforts of government to see that Nigeria become corruption free nation,” he said.

Speaking earlier, the representative of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Yobe state, Pastor Emmanuel Jadi Usman, said the
initiative was aimed at encouraging members who are business owners to transact business legally and support government in the demand for the recovery and return of stole funds.

“The Pentecostal church should be an example on the demand of accountability and transparency in the utilization of returned assets,” he said.
