The recent bomb blasts in Kaduna, widely suspected to have been targeted at two prominent Nigerians, can be described as callous, dangerous and unfortunate, to say the least. That action is a threat to the peaceful existence of this country.
The attempt on the lives of two highly respected Nigerians shows that enemies of this country are determined to further plunge this country into politico-religious crisis. And this will spell doom for the country. Both Sheik Dahiru Bauchi and Gen. Mohammed Buhari, believed to have been targeted by the bombers, are known to have contributed immensely to the development of this country in their chosen fields. That is why they are being accorded tremendous respects across the nation. Unfortunately, those responsible for these killings have failed to understand the dangerous implication of their dastardly actions.
It is time for all concerned Nigerians to rise in defence of this country. We must not allow unpatriotic elements to completely destroy our dear country. More than ever before, every Nigerian should always be vigilant as they go about their daily activities. We cannot afford another civil war. How can we allow a group of people in whatever name to keep on destroying innocent lives and property at will?
We pray that those who lost their lives in the Kaduna blasts would have peace in their various graves. We also wish the injured quick recovery. As we expect government at all levels to provide adequate security to all Nigerians, people should learn to be security conscious and always report any suspicious movement within their environments. We will surely come out of this period of agony. Most importantly, let us learn to love one another.
