Ondo guber 2020: APC factional chairman dumps position

The factional chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo state, Hon Idowu Otetubi, has dumped his position to join the main stream of the party.

The chairman of the factional group stated this in a statement he titled “I am done with Unity Forum”, said his action is based to promote peace and crisis free affairs for the party in the forthcoming election in the state.

In his words “It is  importance is premised on the decisions that I will announce here today which I am sure will promote peace and reconciliation within the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ondo state chapter.

“The recent decision on consensus candidate by some leaders of Unity Forum has no doubt shown that we were not guided by altruism but self-serving interest. The time has come for us to end this exercise in futility and halt the needless distractions that we have given to the parent-body, APC. The unity we craved for, in a group that was propelled by sheer envy, jealousy and greed has thus far remained elusive”.

“In light of the above, I, Hon Idowu Otetubi, have resolved to pull out of the Unity Forum. In making this announcement, I leave no room for further negotiations on the matter.

“Ahead of this declaration, as we speak, I have withdrawn unconditionally, my case in court, suit No. FHC/AK/CS/10/2019, challenging the composition of the State Executive Committee of the Party. These decisions are purely informed by my unquenchable desire for the progress of the State and the APC, particularly, the Ondo State Chapter.

The erstwhile chairman informed that, the level of performance of the present administration deserves to be given support and prevent any chaos that may arises in the party at preventing winning chances during the election.

It will be recalled that recently, the unity group of the party, under the umbrella of the factional group came up with a consensus candidate that have started to generate a lot of heat within the party in the state.
