Ondo NUJ rejoices with Muslims, sues for peace

The executive and entire members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo state council have joined well-meaning Nigerians to celebrate this year’s Eld el-Kabir with Muslim faithful across the state and beyond.

Ondo NUJ therefore urges every Nigerian to use this festive period to reflect on serious security challenges facing the nation and the need for Muslims to ceaselessly pray for a peaceful coexistence in the country in the interest of all.

In a  Sallah Message issued  and signed in Akure by the State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Adetona Aderoboye, indicates that while celebrating, political leaders should not forget various economic hardship and insecurity confronting the citizenry which have been aiding criminal activities every day.

The NUJ chairman, who commends journalists and media organisations in the state for their steadfastness and professionalism in reporting happenings in the state, urged them to sustain the virtue for the overall growth of the state and the country as a whole.

The pen body also appreciated Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the management of Ondo State Radio Corporation (OSRC)  for reviving the state’s hitherto moribund station (96.5 FM, Akure) to serve the public alongside other Radio and TV stations in the state. 

Comrade Aderoboye advised leaders and followers in Nigeria to imbibe the virtues of obedience, endurance, patience, faithfulness and fear of God, epitomised by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his son, Ishmael in order to sustain and allow peace abound in all communities in the country.

The NUJ chairman rejoiced with Muslim journalists and wished other Nigerian Muslims a happy and rewarding Eid el-Kabir celebration.
