Ondo roads in state of emergency – PDP chieftain

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo, Pa Omotosho Samuel, has tasked President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently address the deplorable conditions of roads in the state to avoid a state of emergency in the sector.

Pay Omotosho said “virtually all roads in the state are in terrible state of disrepair and have subjected the citizens to untold hardship”.

He specifically made reference to the the case of “the Akure-Ado-Ekiti, Akure-Owo-Akoko roads that are now of dens to kidnappers and armed robbers terrorising and killing innocent people along the routes”.

The PDP stalwart also called on the state government, under Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, to take urgent steps in arresting the situation from further degenerating into emergency.

“I continue to wonder what this government is doing as regards road repairs and maintenance. Many roads in and around Ondo state are in total state of disrepair, still the federal government is yet to order such roads to be fixed. The Akure-Ado-Ekiti, Akure-Owo-Akoko-Abuja roads are few among those I should mention.

“The people can only appeal to the federal government to put resources together and repair all the affected roads for smooth transportation system and save thousands of lives that can be affected by these bad roads.”
