One person has been confirmed dead, while twenty one others were injured in an accident that occurred along the Lagos-Ibadan express way, Monday.
The accident which occurred in the early hours of 05:35am involved a luxury bus and a truck with no registration numbers.
The spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun sector command, Florence Okpe, who confirmed the incident said a total of 40 persons were involved.
She said a total of 40 persons were involved – 21 male adult were injured and 1 person was killed from the crash that is the luxury bus driver while others were unhurt.
Okpe attributed the cause of the crash to excessive speed and cautioned drivers to take life serious.
“The suspected causes of the crash were excessive speed and mechanical deficiency,the speed aspect was from the truck driver who ran into the stationed bus and killed the driver of the bus who was under the bus trying to rectify some issues discovered from the vehicle.
“The injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital Mowe for medical attention and the corpse deposited at the same hospital,” she added.
