One dead as rival cult group clash in Osun


The clash between two rival cult in Osogbo, Osun state, Saturday left one person dead. 


The victim, Azeez Tajudeen, was killed in front of Laro-Timehin, Isale-Osun area, Osogbo,  during a carnival organised by a group. 


It was gathered that Tajudeen was invited out of the carnival and macheted to death. 


Sources said the victim was shot three times before he was eventually killed with matchete. 


The spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Daniel Adigun,confirmed the killing. 


He said the clash was between two cult group who might have had altercation before the carnival. 


According to NSCDC spokesman, the corpse has been deposited at the morgue of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo. 


He assured residence that normalcy has been returned to the place.
