One month to go: Jubilation in Yobe as Gaidam approves N325.6m gratuity for LG retirees

In an effort to settle all outstanding liabilities before handover, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe state has approved the sum of N325,620,511.61 as payment of outstanding liabilities to 316 retired local government staff in the state.

The governor’s spokesman, Abdullahi Bego, disclosed on Thursday in a press statement saying, “this followed their verification by the committee set up by the governor for the settlement of liabilities of all local government retirees.”

“Out of the 316 retirees, 62 are deceased whom entitlements will be paid to their next-of-kin.”

Blueprint gathered that the governor had earlier this year approved N249,664,126.83 for 250 retirees on March 11, 2019 while on February 14, 2019, he approved 302,294,298.21 for another batch of 316 retired local government employees.
