Onu pledges to partner NIPSS on economic revival

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya  Onu has said his ministry is to collaborate with National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) to advance the nation’s economy.

Onu said both organisations would work judiciously in the good of the nation in order to lift the dependency on other nations for basic  needs.

Onu made this statement during the inauguration of the collaborative committee between the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology  and the Nigerian  Institute  of Policy  and Strategic   Studies (NIPSS) on Monday in Abuja.

According to the minister, NIPSS is an institution with a pool of human resources who are capable of solving the Nigerian problems while the ministry is the brain box of the nation, stressing; “we have continuously conducted research and innovation to seek new ways to create things and improve productivity and this is exactly why the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) 2017  recognises science, technology and innovation (STI) at the very center of economic activity in the country.”

Earlier, the chairman of the committee, Dr. Paul Ekweozoh, commended the minister and his team for his efforts and assured of the determination of his team  to reposition Nigeria.
