Onu woos investors on innovation

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr.Ogbonnaya Onu has appealed to investors and venture capitalists to take advantage of the numerous research findings of the Ministry.
Onu made the appeal when he received the Chairman, Specialised Exhibition Committee of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Engr Leye Kupoluyi, who paid him a courtesy call in his office, in Abuja.
According to the Minister, the numerous research findings of the Ministry have the potentials of yielding great monetary dividends for potential investors.
He further said that the ongoing drive to make the Nigeria economy to be science and innovation driven was hinged on the need to reduce extreme poverty and ensure growth and prosperity Onu called on Nigeria Firms to come and take advantage of the work done in the Ministry, developed it further and put it in the market for the benefits of all, adding that the Ministry is creating the right environment for those who are interested in innovation.
He also tasked Nigerian Youths on the utilisation of science and technology which, to him is the driving force of modern economy and window to a brighter future.
Earlier, the Chairman specialized Exhibition Committee of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Engr.
Leye Kupoluyi said that the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry had been focusing on what science and technology can do for the country.
He said that her area of interest is on how Information Communication and technology (ICT) can drive the Nigerian economy, hence the need for synergy with the Ministry.
He recalled that it was the Chamber that championed the introduction of electricity to Lagos in 1896, adding that the Lagos Chamber of commerce has always been science and hightech compliant.
Kupoluyi appealed to the Minister to grace the chamber’s exhibition scheduled to hold on July 26, 2016 at Ikoyi Hotel, Lagos, adding that developed countries achieved their feat
