Ooni celebrates birthday with children

The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has reiterated his readiness towards protecting the right of the children in the society.
To this end, Oba Adeyeye, Monday, cut his birthday cake with Children of Africa Leadership and Values Development Initiative (CALDEV).
The CALDEV, a Non Governmental Organisation, was led by its president, Hon. Bamidele Salam, to the palace of Ooni in Ile-Ife, Osun state, to present birthday gift to the monarch.
The group also decorated Oba Adeyeye as its grand patron, urging him not to relent his support for children development.
Speaking, Oba Adeyeye expressed concern over the rate of early child marriage and all forms of payment problems confronting the children in the society.
He vowed to use his position to defend the rights of children from all form all forms of dangers they are facing in the society.
“It is very important to go extra gap in bringing moral back to children, that is why I am actually taking my time to celebrate with them. I celebrate with them on daily basis. They are the heritage of any nation.
The president of CALDEV, Hon Salam, explained that the aim of the group was to train the children about what leadership entails and ensure that they are given a fairer deal in the country.
He noted that thee children are the one that suffer most in any crisis or war and other problems confronting the country, saying the group would strive to expose the children to international best practice
